Arctic Residency

In October 2016 I embarked on an expedition as I set sail across the arctic seas on board a tall ship as part of a unique artist residency programme. I travelled alongside fellow artists from all corners of the world which provided opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration – to foster new relationships and new ideas.

My adventure took me on a journey through the Arctic seas on an expedition around the mountainous archipelago of Svalbard, providing opportunities to explore the intersections between art, science, education, and activism.

Before setting out on this expedition I stated that it would be my aim to use my participation in this residency programme as a platform from which to develop new ideas, collaborations, and of course new work.

You can follow my progress in the months leading up to the expedition and thereafter by following my Arctic Blog which I’ve set up to capture ideas, inspiration, and information in the build up to my Arctic expedition, as well as to document my work in progress. Hopefully this blog will function as digital scrapbook and sketchbook enabling readers to follow the development of my work in relation to my Arctic artist residency.
