Description
Deep frying is an internet folk process – take an image, degrade it, compress it, repeat until something strange and new emerges from the noise.
Compression Artefact asks what happens when you run that process through a soft, textile-based medium instead. The source image is a creepy void meme – a dense field of eyes lifted from a niche corner of the internet – translated pixel-by-stitch into something that sits between digital glitch and physical object. The pixelation isn’t incidental. It’s the point.
Approximately 40 hours of hand embroidery. Every stitch a deliberate act of preservation for something the internet would rather keep moving.
